Effect of Lateral Load on Local Buckling of Latex Wrapped Cold Formed Steel Columns

This paper reports the experimental investigation conducted on unwrapped and latex wrapped cold-formed steel column. Various column cross-sections are subjected to repeated lateral loading till failure. All columns were observed fail in local buckling. The cross-section dimension, provision of interior exterior lip, wrapping influenced load Increasing web length a section from 100 200 mm increased load-carrying capacity by 70 %. buckling was initiated flange portion with no lip exhibited inward flange. outward did not influence initial load-displacement behavior columns.
